Julia Passamonti-Colamartino

Dino Colamartino

Julia, born 1959, is a bilingual first generation Italian-American and full time artist born in Boston Massachusetts USA. Each piece that Julia creates is unique, with careful attention being paid to workmanship and detail. Although she holds a Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts and an Associate’s Degree in Graphic Design, Julia is mostly self-taught, thanks to the wonders of YouTube and the Internet. Her studio is in Las Vegas New Mexico, where she resides with her loving husband Dino and a colony of quasi-feral kitties.

Dino, born 1958, is an Italian born naturalized US citizen who immigrated in 2001 to marry Julia after having met in Italy in 1996. Dino is from Sora, province of Frosinone, in Abruzzo. Even though he comes from background in classical studies, mainly Ancient Latin and Greek, Dino became a highly skilled self-taught mechanic and electrician, having worked as a barista in the family caffe-gelato business as well as repairing commercial espresso machines. He obtained a license in HVAC (heating, ventilation, air conditioning) in 2006 in Massachusetts, and today works on his own repairing small engines, machinery, and generally keeping the shop and home running smoothly. Dino is also a gourmet cook, and has inspired many of the designs for our cookware and tableware.
